SOLD: 1960s Mint Green Mod Dolly Dress

This was a special find, a handmade 1960’s dolly dress, and it’s now happily rehomed with its new owner. If you see it out on the town in the summer, then perhaps you can take a photo (with the owner’s consent of course!) and let me know.

The new owner of this gem said on Etsy: “Fab dress in wonderful condition. Can’t wait for summer so I can wear it to party’s. Great seller wouldn’t hesitate to buy from her again. Many thanks.” How kind!

It is rare to find a day dress in such amazing condition from the 60’s. A beautiful shade of green with silver flashes, this lovely A-line shape is a true icon from the period.

Jean Varon ‘The Avengers’ Collection: 1965 Designer Vintage Video

Jean Varon is a name that is often omitted from the roll call of 60’s and 70’s fashion designers, but his dress designs are varied and inspired. He designed costumes for Diana Rigg in ‘The Avengers’ and he’s thought to be the true inventor of the mini-skirt.
